On October 17, 2019, the Cameroon Humanitarian Relief Initiative (CHRI) made its 25th donation of food items to the Southern Cameroon conflict detainees at Kondengui Central Prison, Yaounde. Delivery dates in 2019 so far included: January 17th, February 14th, March 7th, April 4th, May 9th, June 13th, July 11th, September 5th, October 4th, and October 17th.

We continue to receive heartfelt appreciation messages from the beneficiaries and a plea to increase the frequency of deliveries given higher census and their discouraging level of distress. We have also received a request to extend help to other detainees.

Based on these requests, we have resolved to increase our one-time monthly outreach to a biweekly supply of food items worth $650 each to the detainees beginning from November 2019. Although CHRI previously maintained a biweekly outreach format worth $1,000 each, but due to the high security risk and low financial support, we had to settle for our present one-time monthly outreach worth $1,100. We sincerely request your continuous generous donations to make this proposed action achievable and bring more relief to our brothers in detention.

Also, CHRI completed its outreaches to refugees on 10/12/2019 within the following communities: Takum, Baisa and Ngembo in Taraba State, Nigeria. They are not covered by the UN support system and recent events have created an upsurge of refugees needing basic help. Report about the outreaches will be sent shortly in subsequent emails.

Finally, we heartily extend our sincere appreciation to all our current and prospective donors, and continuously request your support to meet these needs. Please visit our website to donate at www.chrelief.org/donate or mail a check to: CHRI at 4413 Nuttall Road, Fairfax, VA 22032
